Front page news in today's Metro newspaper and the usual great whining and wailing from the cotton wool brigade about how speed kills, how he endangered himself, irresponsible on the public etc, ad infinitum.

In 1970, at 4.30 in the morning!

This follows on from an article in Loaded magazine, where NE stated that his GT40 needed to be exercised as it had been somewhat neglected.

News must either be very slow, or the self-righteous Guardian/Independent massive are gaining the upper hand in this internecine struggle.

O/T, but why is the Metro the only car to have it's own newspaper? OK, so the Escort and Fiesta have their own magazines but this doesn't seem fair to all the other cars out there.

I think you'll find many people have asked themselves this very same question over the years.

Not nescessarily in connection with speed or anything though... hehe

Surely, by the grace of whatever you believe in, that cannot be true?

yeah, im pretty sure after 36 years they cannot prosecute him... and then can just claim he made it up - seeing as they have no evidence!

Arresting the journalist for being criminally pathetic?

(I think they might be a bit beyond the 14-day NIP deadline for Edmonds...)

I have just one question:

How did he reach the pedals? Blocks of wood a-la Short-Round from Indian Jones and the Temple of Doom?

I guess they googled for 'Celebs going very fast' and couldn't find anything more recent.

But anyway, it seems no worse than PC 'I'm a copper so I can do what I like' Milton sharpening his driving skills... rolleyes

I've heard they're also going after Bertie Wooster for doing 51mph in his Lagonda whilst popping down to the Glossop's place for the weekend in 1924.

Never takes the ones you want does it?

As a result I only ever fly when Joe Pasquale is on the same plane.
