Zetec 2.0ltr V's i4 (rs2000 engine)
Discussion
A mate of mine is building a kit car, thing is he has a 16 valve 2ltr engine out of an RS 2000 that he would like to use, but wants to know if the 2.0 Zetec is a much better engine. Does any body know the difference in weight beetween the two lumps?,and what is the tunning potential of the engine he has.
Cheers

The 16 Valve RS 2000 is a Zetec engine as far as I am aware?? The difference with a standard 2.0litre zetec is the cams. The RS2000 engine is an excellent unit and will give 165 hp on an engine management system and twin 45 DCOE's.
If he wants more info, check out Sylva forums or get him to drop me a line off line.
Cheers,
Mark

The 2litre Zetec has 130bhp, or at least the one in my Focus has....dunno about the RS2000 tho, cos i always thought they were the same engine? try www.interford.co.uk and www.ffoc.co.uk i'm sure someone there will be able to fill you in in more detail.
The RS2000 engine out of the 92 RS2000 is a peach
drove one years ago , IIRC its based on the 2.0 DOHC out of the sierra so basicly its a 16v pinto with a lot of modifications , remove the emisions crap and it'll see 160ish BHP in standard form . The 2.0 zetec has about 130 Bhp dont know what it's like to tune though im afraid
