Hi all,

I'm beginning to wonder if the highway code contains the following text..

When using motorways the following should be observed.

Spot porsche in your rear view mirror. (Do not pull out of it's way) Instead a much safer option is to accelerate to the upper limits of your lame-ass car's capabilities until the engine is about to explode. Force said porsche to then do one of the following; Overtake at an even higher speed, or pull in and let you go and laugh at your annoyingness and low value crappy car that you polute our presence with.

In the space of 30 mins on the A1 I had a boy racer mini cooper s, a mondeo ST turd-twenty and a bmw 330weasel (let's face it deisel drivers are all weasel weiners) trying to 'have a go'. Even the most lame mum bus will do 100mph, and some even more (like those BMW M-Fwees) so why don't they just admit they are slow and get out my way??

No doubt the mini boy is telling his mates 'Yeah mate I woz well ard. I add a race wiv a porsche man and 'E' cuddun get past me innit'

I refer to my previous discussion, all deserve to be shot.

Oh Framps you are turning into quite the Tory - I love it!

Quite agree. Had this discussion with nerv on the way to the rolling road. there we were, two beauties resplendant in all our peacock finery and what happens - lesser people get in OUR way, on OUR road.

Whatever next

Actually, I think you must have a Turbo or better than average 911 cos the M3 boys paste me in my Boxster S......by about 80bhp! And to be honest (although I don't like to admit it) the 3 litre diesels in Beemers and Audi's can keep up quite nicely too. I have been known to aggressively over take Micras though...... ;-)

heh heh.. yes it's just not cricket is it fellas. I mean, 'I' won't exactly be bragging at the polo club, 'hey I burned off a mini on the way here boys' that'd be like admitting you'd slept with an ugly girl. It might give you a brief sense of satisfaction but nobody's going to be impressed!?!

They only try it on because they think they have a chance.

Simple solution - buy a faster car so that they're sure they don't.

last time I was in front of a flashing 330d bmw i flored it, looked smug then looked in my mirror, smug look was soon wiped from my face, they things can go in a stright line from a rolling start.

911 are fast yes, but that fast in a stright line from other top of range euro box's.
its in the twisty bits you will do the pulling away.

yeah but the fact is the euro box mum buses are all maxing at 120-130mph.. so to prove the point do you hoon off at 150?! (on an autobahn of course.. cough cough) I even had white van man doing 95..

I think the only answer is a public flogging.

p.s. Litronic headlights are excellent for deterring the over eager driver in front.. 'is it the police, or is it a porsche' are ya feeling lucky fella, well are ya?

driving like that you are only adding to the coffee bean shacking image that porsche seems to have. I do not drive slowly but I also do not badger poeple out of the way or retaliate to there challange

Too true, I never goad em. It's more the other way. Interesting point as a fellow tippy driver, did you change down yourself to blast the diesel off? I find if you leave it to the electronic wizardry it can be a bit uninspired as the change down comes late, if at all.

I see you are still learning the tip tricks, I find it better to do it manualy, but if you really want the true brutal kick down you have to totally floor the big pedal, i mean to the floor I found that it has like a 2 step motion you have to go throgh the first resistance point and right to the floor & it kicks down as low as it can, only recomend this on strights., but yes I normaly see the siuation coming up slip it into m then back to d after

does yours pick up on your driving style, and sence you are in play mode? changeing higher up rev range? only to keep this mode for the morning.
