Sorry to ask a basic question, my 3r is nearly up to 10k miles, and the rear tyres are reaching the end of their life, the fronts are not too bad at all, should I replace all 4, or can I get away with sticking some pirellis on the back alone
Cheers

Firstly you should slap yourself on the back of a hand, as getting 10k out of a set of rears means you are just not having enough fun!!!

I am guessing you have SO3's on, and in that case, then yes unfortunatly you really should swop all 4. The chouce is the

Pirelli P Zero rosso

Bridgestone RE050

Toyo R888

You'll have to ask around for peoples views on these.

I'm running Advan A048's and they are brilliant on the road and track in the dry, but a bit less fun and more testing in the wet.

My fronts have a bit more life in them but the rears are shot. I'm wondering if its wise to put another set of rears on this close to winter!?

Think I'm going to get 4 new R888's (as Broad says they are good (?))

And then get some more 048's for the back once the sun comes out again next May.

Greg, took a set of 048's off of the Renault and put some 888's on, much stickyer but seem to work better on lower pressures.

I doubt there will be much between the 888's and 048's. Very similar compounds.

Both will be terrifying in cold or wet (or both eek conditions)

I had a nightmare in sub zero conditions even on my SO3's last winter.

I remember pulling out of Brands Hatch hotel on the owners day morn and heading sideways at 1 mph across all 4 lanes of the dual carriadgeway!! eek

I would not trust 048's or 888's at all in those conditions on a car as stiff as a noble.

(I may have had a bit too much pressure in them)

Think I have just convinced myself to get some RE050's now and to put the 048's back on in May '07.

Recently took delivery of the last (or very nearly?) set of SO3's in existence for a full re-shodding. Will have used (10,000 miles) SO3's for sale soon (fronts >5-6mm/rears >4mm).

Has 'ANYONE' used Toyo Proxis T1-R's on a Noble?
