The only Porsche in the Village ?!
Discussion
For 12 months of delirious happiness I have had the ONLY Porsche both in the village and a large area of the surrounding environs.
The dear readers will remember it's a basalt black 996 C4S Cabriolet and has pride of place in the driveway where the village girls can see it and write their mobile numbers in the dust. (Mrs Hussar not terribly keen on that bit !)
Imagine my chagrin when on Friday evening the car park of the hotel opposite me was littered with a yellow 996TT, black 997S, silver 996 C4S and a blue 993 cabriolet (- the boots are HUGE on those aren't they BTW ?).
To make matters worse they were still there showing off on Sunday morning, and I felt it incumbant upon me to hide mine behind the muddy Land Rover to try to regain a bit of cred with the city types who had descended upon us for a wedding (Why couldn't they come by mini-bus like poor people ?)
I am both hurt and upset by this flagrant disregard for my position within my community, and sincerly hope that there will be no repetition of this kind of thoughtless parking that is normally associated with wine bars and bistros in built-up areas.
Wasn't any of you lot was it ?
Well, if you're looking for a move to avoid all those city types, may I recommend Grimethorpe in South Yorkshire. Not only will you be assured of owning the only Porsche in the village, but in all likelihood the only powered vehicle too!
An added benefit is that the average house price is comparable to an RMS fix at an independent.
