Stage 1 panelling - advice needed !

Hi folks.
Took delivery of my GTR kit on Friday and started the panelling Sat / Sun.
Two quick questions :
1) Does anyone have the dimensions of the handbrake and G50 centre shift holes in the rear bulkhead panel. They are not in the manual.
2) Some people have said to leave the top of the rear and front bulkheads unrivetted as some sort of access is needed later in the build. Is this right (again not in manual) and if so how come ?
Am on a learning curve as you can image. Any other advice welcome !

Welcome. Good fun insn't it?
The shift hole will be sized to the shaft and it's position. I did mine by pointing a laser down through the rose joints to find the centre and then drill the basic hole. Then keeping on offering up the shaft to finally fit it.
The handbrake holes again are made to fit the grommet. I could not find a grommet the correct size so cut a larger one down to just fit round the cable. This then gave me the hole size.
You don't rivet the top edge of the front and rear bulkheads because the Body fits over this at a later stage and you then rivet through the body and the skin into the chassis.
Also you don't rivet the outer edge of the skin on the cills because in this case the GF of the side pod will later be trapped between the cill skin and the chassis.

Yes, I've seen CJ's sites, both of which are excellent and have already been a real help. I think he had the same problem with the holes but he didn't list the measurements. Anyway, Richard at Ultima has just sent me the dimensions, which I can now record for prosperity ! Richard said

Gearlinkage hole is 55mm from centreline cockpit side and 59mm engine side, 23mm up from top of chassis rail.
Handbrake holes are 25mm out from centre line and 15mm up from top of chassis rail".

You'll find these sorts of measurements in the pictures rather than the text. I marked the panels up and then photographed them.
That said, I've done a G50 right shift and Getrag centre - co a central G50 would be a new one on me too

I should have known that you would have had the measurements on your site somewhere ! Sorry for doubting you !
On a related note, I went for a non supercharged engine in the end, a 427 600bhp one, which Gail reckons should give around 640 with a few mods. I don't pretend to understand what the mods are, something to do with the heads but he could be designing a toaster for all I know. He did one for someone in the UK last year and sent me a dyno showing 627+. Should be sufficient either way.
