Ghibli or Cerbera
Discussion
I thought I would post this here as I know the exact response that I will get out of the Cerbera forum!
I have a requirement for a 4 seater, non-daily driver and have basically come down to either a Ghibli or a Cerbera.
Now, I know quite a bit about the Cerbera experience as far as the costs involved etc but I have no idea about the Ghibli.
So, two part question, which one and what does the Ghibli cost to run?
Matt.

Not all that sure about the Maser despite having been tempted over 2 years ago....

As for the cerbera they are fantastic but get used to niggly lirttle problems that get on your tits from time to time...mine was fairly reliable but note that the warranties these cars come with even fairly new (mine was only 2yrs old when i bought it) are a littel 'odd' and very lean on the time they think things can be doone in....then you have to have a good garage that will argue your corner when things go wrong - and believe me little things will go wrong .... Read away on the maserati but i would argue with both of these cars buy as new as you can; get a warranty and make sure it is at a garage with a good reputation or you'll end up owning a money pit.....one word on the cerbera front - they have lost a lot of value over the last couple of years and there is plenty of specualtion as to why (which we need not enter into ) but be aware that depreciation is a major factor here..... Looks wise I have to say I think the cerb is a handsdown winner....

I think the "Basher" might have been referring to this:

His advice seems sound to me. If you have to get either of these two, then I'd probably look into the Maser as long as there was a proper warranty. But can you get a Trident warranty on one of these?(I think only the newer ones, but not sure).
Maserati's of that age are notorious for reliability, and I guess most people on PH could steer you in the right direction for a good independent for the Cerbera. It will also be quicker straightline too!
But, have you seen the interior on the Maser? Quite tasty...

a Ghibli Cup certainly brings with it plenty of tail end fun but with high costs - I had one from 6 months old and over 18 months of ownership the costs were very high - the servicing over the last 12 months exceeeded £15k and the depreciation was very high - if you buy an older baby the dep' should be sorted but be ready to bear some heavy pain at the very frequent visits to the dealer - base Ghibli's could be better - I found almost everything that went wrong with the Cup had to come from Italy with consequent delay and all the electrical problems were tough to properly diagnose and cure - if you are choosing between a Tiv and a Maser you clearly love tail end fun and are content to be without your car for long periods I'm sure you'll have fun
