Took the cerb this morning to drop the kids off at bus pick up and school, then taking him to the garage for the power steering and odd bits looking at.

Weather not great, first spots of rain fall, so push button for windscreen wipers eek nothing, looking at the sky this is not good, and too late to go home for my car and pick Trev up later. Push the wash wipe button by mistake and the windscreen wipers go 1/3 across the screen and stop, so here I am driving round wiggly roads pressing the wash wipe button like mad trying to get it to clear the screen (soapy rain there's a first). hehe Have another go at the wiper button and they work this time, on intermitten which isn't great as it has a habit of stopping right across my line of vision before setting off again, pressing wiper button with vigour now trying to get the wipers to go normal speed.

Now Trevs are not cars to hide in paperbag had to laugh though driving down the road with the wipers doing a crazy dance over the windscreen and all I could think was well everyone will be looking and going yep those TVR's are always breaking.

We were all laughing as I was driving along pressing alternate buttons till something eventually happened. Wash wipe being a favourite as at least it stopped when I took my finger off the button.

He better behave when he comes home irked

I had something v similar on my Chim - not sure whether the Cerb uses the same wiper motor etc, but the connector block frequently causes trouble. I cleaned mine with a file and some WD40, reconnected it, covered it all in Vaseline (oo-err) and it all worked fine. No more comedy wipers!

Power steering working now Hurra, fingers crossed it works longer than the last one. Starter motor fixed again but the wipers still have a mind of their own. Love the car to bits just wished its not always in bits.

PIAA silicone wiper blades do the same job as Rain X, although on a Cerb you have to mount one of them upside-down. smash

Which is fine if your wipers work They're working at the minute, think its a lose connection behind the button on the steering wheel, you have to press the button at the top and thats seems to get them working.

Other than that he's lovely, fresh back from his stay in the garage (I'm sure he thinks its a health farm for Cerbs rolleyes )

No, it's fine if your wipers have worked at some point in the past. As they wipe, they coat the screen in RainX-like material. So if they stop working, you should be OK, providing you drive fast enough driving

Ah I see now paperbag, driving fast enough isn't a problem as long as the numpties get out of the way.

If you buy some silicone lubricant spray (from a hardware shop :-) ) and coat your wipers, they last a bit longer and you get the RainX effect on your windscreen. And all those squeaks go away. Great stuff.

Also useful for other rubber around the car.
