Been told to spec the car asap by the dealer, and by end of month at the latest.

Still saying Dec build, for Jan delivery

I can't get my head around the interiors leather options though, there are 2 leather interior options, but does anyone know what the standard interior will be ??

Also, can't decide whether to have any of this sport Chrono mularky, certainly don't want/need Satnav, but is it worth it for anything else ???

The sport button is not connected to the chrono stuff, and comes as standard.

I thought the RS came with nomex covered carrera Gt seats Glenn?....I prefer cloth over leather covering for track use, this is probably old news

www.porsche.com/all/911gt3rs/en/page1.htm

but shows carbon backed cloth seats fitted,

there was a full spec list knocking around on 997 Gt3 & RS,,,think it may have been on rennlist.....had a quick look couldn't find it at mom.

p.s. Holmes place magazine....

oooooo

and parking sensors + vanity mirror

LOL

that will be a fantastic piece of kit - whatever the spec - the most important part of that car is what comes as standard!

tow bar with dual power points

serious answer - other than A/C would you really need to add anything to it?

I think the whole point of going the RS route is 'lightness' and 'simplicity'.

There's probably a few useful options, but leather, PCM, audio, etc seem out of place on an RS. IMO the sport chrono thingy looks silly, but I would be tempted to add the PCCBs

The standard GT3 should be more suitable for day to day use, so a few comforts and conveniences would seem to be more acceptable.

I wondered when someone would find a copy of that

I wasn't after leather seats, i just don't want a standard rubber looking dash....

I have a leather covered one in my currect GT3, and think the standard rubber look one is a bit poor tbh....

Wondering if it is the same scenario with this car too ???

Actually, the new non-leather dash looks very good indead - Audi quality finish. And, IMO, much better suited to the RS than the fussy leather stitched option.

don't think I want any extras other than Orange now,,,, was going to go for Sat/Nav to have the Sport Chrono Plus but I am sure I would tire of it... only other option I might go for is Litronic Head Lights,,,

was told to spec mine a couple of weeks ago, January build apparantly. I thought i had to wait until the car was released in Paris but apparantly the info has been sent off and confirmed.

Orange
Wanted orange cage but told it couldnt be done (has one in the press pics)
Carbon centre console
carbon door guards
Litronic lights
Top tint

That is all.

Glenn - keep it simple...the new non leather interior matches the spirit of the GT3 and RS..leather is for the TTs etc and not the focused models. Only thing you may want to order are the bi-xenons, PCCBs and TPMS.

If I had it my way I would even ask for the sound proofing material to be ditched in the GT3 and have the sports button on as the default all the time !

Rear centre console in CF will look good but I find it a bit pricey...

Barry -
I was under the impression that orange cage on Orange car was standard but there was an option for a black cage if you so wished?

I know Glenn is quite keen on the orange cage idea too hehe

What is TPMS ??

Going for Xenons, and centre console in Orange....

Mind is not set on PCCB's yet

So is the standard interior in Alcantara then ??, if so, that will suit me fine.
