Fitting Europipes to my 996TT, just wondering if any one has had this make fitted to theirs, and which one you went for. Stage1, Stage 2 Loud or Stage 2 Quiet? Any help for me to make up my mind would be great. The video,s they have on the Europipe web site are not great and it is hard to decide which is best.

I went for their new level 1 which produces the same power as level 2 Quiet but its quieter. It suits better European sound levels in my opinion.

Kiko, are you happy with the sound? What performance gains did you get and is it true that the turbo lag is almost gone?

I have the Europipe Stage 2 Loud on my car.

The sound is not too harsh because the turbos take a lot of the noise out.

What i will say is that you are making a good decision in purchasing an exhaust from Europipe, they are the best finished and highest quality pipe I have seen.

You will also find Stef or Herman very helpful if you give them a call in Belgium.

Yes, I'm happy with the sound. I'm very low profile so their new EP 1 is spot on for me this is as loud as anyone who takes a ride in the car expects, 'til today no one asked id I had a performance exhaust... I'd say its in between the 996 Carrera and the 996 Carrera with PSE if you're happy an exhaust a bit more agressive go with EP 2 Quiet as the Loud is clearly for the US market as Stefan told me.

Whats all this ''european market'' and ''US market'' stuff. Surely someone should buy whatever exhaust they like the sound/performance mix of ?

Is the inference that exhausts in europe should be quieter ? If so, why ?

I don't understand your point.

Different regions of the world have different conduct rules and taste. For instance on the middle east white cars are the hip for sometime over here I could sell my Turbo for 25k if was white simply because its too loud and resembles a fridge too much for people here, well, most american performance exhausts (like Fabspeed) are just intolerable here. Do you get the point?

There are different rules in Europe. If an exhaust is too loud it won't get the car thru an MOT in the UK or TUEV in Germany.

Really ? I never knew that a car could fail an mot on a too loud exhaust. Anyone know the sound levels relevant and are they rigorously enforced ?

Thanks for the link. I'd better find an MOT tester who expects porsches' to be loud then !

best is to get an independent to "organise" the MOT for you. They will use an MOT centre that are used to Porsches since alot of MOTs get done at service time
