takes grenade out of packaging

Hi all

I am new to this forum

I have just collected my new P&J a vintage Porch 992 (or something) - its an N reg

removes pin

Love the car to bits, sounds wonderful in a can of beans sort of way but there seems to be a bit of a problem with the doors. Everytime I open them they seem to flap about too much. Is this normal?

Explosion follows...

yes, your 992 has the age old flappy door trouble. I suggest you buy a size 4 button clamp and clean the spade nodes. that should do the trick. Or better still, fit a baby seat from 'mylife'soverandIshouldbuyapassat.com

happy flange adjusting

that sounds like a typical 993 problem, along with rattling horsbrass, overgrown facial hair and a uncanny desire to wear jesus sandals.

was the 992 a prototype?

yeh - couldnt afford a 993, even though the chap at the garage said I should always buy on condition and ignore the mileage

Worried now:

Door straps? - both ok and working - check
Horsebrass? - none in possession
Facial hair? - clean shaven
Jesus sandals? - vomit

Flappy doors on your porch? Try this:

(I thought the jumper and wallpaper would be most appropriate too.)

I fail to see why this is a problem. what are you doing opening the doors anyway? the whole point of designing such a beautiful car is that you neither need nor wish ever to get out of it.
