I really like the looks of the early 911 T. And you see some really fine resorations around. But I am wondering would I be disappointed with the performance and handling of such an early car when compared to something a bit newer?

maybe better to go for a Carrera or 964?

When you say early - am i to assume you mean a 930 Turbo rather than 964?

er, nothing to do with a turbo mate. Well before they were on production cars. Try very early 70's and you're about there. nerd

'T' was the base model (usually on carbs). 'E' and 'S' models had more power and torque and are generally more desirable and expensive.

But even good 'T's are getting pricey. Unless you particularly want an early car (and they are great fun), a similar sum of money would buy you a better, later car, such as a G50 3.2 Carrera or 964.

There is a big Pre'74 Porsche Event at Beaulieu this Sunday. Probably be a few hundred early Porsches there. Good place to see if this is what you really want.
