Turbo S Values
Discussion
Morning All,
Would anyone like to comment on what the values of late model Turbo S cars are doing. Most seem to be around late 70's (higher through OPC's). Are they going to slump as the 997 TT's become more common? With an original purchase price of around £100k - do these beasts now represent good value for money?
Anyone who has one....comments on ownership would be welcomed.
Thanks

What are the actual differences between a 'standard 996 turbo and a turbo S ? I know that the X50 engine upgrade, PCCB's and different colour, hollow spoke wheels are some of the differences but is that it or are there further differences, other than the badging, of course?
No. X50, PCCBS (
) sport design 18" alloys Interior - sunroof, sat nav, bose and memory seats as standard.
I have a friend who has a black 05 S with aero kit, small ali interior kit (dash strips, centre air vents, dashpanel) black leather with red seat belts.
Each to their own but I think it looks bloody fantastic - only hope I have enough dosh available when he comes to sell it in a couple of years - especially if he goes to his OPC to get a trade in quote (see Soovy there is an upside to all crap OPC trade-in values)
The only dissapointment with the car is the fact that its exhaust is quite quiet - feel there should be more drama from the exhaust department......
but hey you can't have everything.

Sport Design alloys ? I'm certain that the S has hollow spokes in a darker grey/graphite type colour as standard ?!!?
Also, I prefer maritime blue seatbelts to red, but that could be just because mine has them !

Hmmm not quite sure now. The two S models for sale in th PH classifieds both have the standard facelift turbo alloys - exactly the same as yours.
The one I have got up close and personal with has the sport design jobbies on so I presume they must be ANOTHER extra that was spec'd. I remember the salesman suggesting the original buyer paid in the region of £115k for the car new. Sold to my friend for £85k as a SOR vehicle, so I have no doubt the OPC probably trousered the the original owner for at least 5k
so pay £115k in 2005, sell for £80k a year later - £35k loss in one year
