What Suspension for MK1 GT3??
Discussion
I'm getting Manthey KWs put on mine as we speak. I've passengered in a couple of Manthey'd GT3s (both Mk1 and mk2) and it seems to completely revolutionize the car's ride and handling.
After 30k miles, the OEM suspension starts getting tired... deffo worth replacing yours if you are still on original suspension. I was a photographer at a recent GT3/964RS outing at North Weald, and between the same cars, it was pretty obvious which cars had suspension that was clearly shagged by their inability to damp/suspend the car through the same bends/dips.

Manthey'd KWs are revalved KWs with bespoke rates on the compression, rebound, etc. They are specially tuned for the bumpiness of the 'Ring and, as such, more suitable for fast road work similar to the conditions here in the UK. Standard KWs are firmer and more suitable for billiard smooth roads/tracks - similar to the Parr JRZ setup which some have reported as being too firm for anything but the likes of the smoothest circuits. Both Manthey and standard KWs are still fully adjustable, but the range of adjustment will be different between the Manthey and standard. FWIW, I have heard reports of some seasoned racers who tried out the Parr JRZ setup and binned it in favour of the Manthey KWs saying that the Manthey setup was far less likely to kill you at the 'Ring...! Mind you, different horses for different courses...

Hey lads. Car is in Ringracing, thinking of changing suspension. Has anyone tried PSS9's in GT3?? Was also thinking of Manthey's KW's.. Has anybody tried either???
The best tuners in my experience are Parr and Manthey. I have driven both Parr and Manthey set up MK1's, MK2's and GT3RS's on the limit in many race tracks in the UK and at Spa. Manthey use KW shockers and Parr use JRZ. Both are very good but I would say in terms of damping control the JRZ has the edge. The Manthey set up is very sharp at the front which gives lightening turn in. This can lead to oversteer after turn in if the driver is experienced and capable of utilising the potential of the car's turn in speed. The Parr set up is less sharp on turn in and the nose of the car has to be worked a little once turned in the car has a better balance. It is unfair to say that the Parr set up is stiffer than the Manthey. The shock absorbers are fully adjustable and can be set as soft as the driver reqiures. Basically, what you want is what you get. From my experience, I think that the Parr set up has more ultimate potential because the car can be taken to a further extreme if the driver requires it. I can add as a caviat that whilst I have driven the Parr set up at the ring, I have no experience of the Manthey set up there so I cannot comment on the relative performance of the two systems here. but certainly on most circuits the Parr system would have the edge.
I would strongly reccomend that you try both set up's before you buy. Many of my friends have the Manthey set up and I'm sure would be glad to run you around. I can run you around in the RS on the same say and you can make a far more objective decision.
Either way good luck
