A relatively new Elise owner, I have been thrilled by the car and enjoyed two great trackdays at Oulton and Donnington. I am looking to get more performance out of the car and there seem a raft of factory/alternative tuner modifications on the market. Short of buying one of the stock faster models (e.g. sport 160), what is general opinion on good value modifications and whether non-factory mods affect re-sale etc. I also saw the Lotus Club magazine mention a 190bhp upgrade by Turbo Techn ics ... any thought son this? WOuld it also require handling mods? Appreciate and feedback.

I drove the TT Elise and was mighty impressed. Not so sure how it compares value wise to other conversions but it was tremendous fun. http://www.pistonheads.com/lotus/elise/supercharged.asp Of the cars that have been converted I think most are still running on standard suspension.

For general background, have a look at http://www.british-cars.co.uk/cgi-bin/gen5?runprog=lotusbbs&access=&mode=tlist&subject=2050 in the Elise Technical and (if you can stand the inanity) Elise General sections. Register to get access to the archives. Engine wise, pay particular attention to Dave Andrews; Handling wise, there are several options, it depends on how much noise you want to suffer on the road. The Lotus kit seems to be the best compromise, but somewhat expensive for what it is (£1100 fitted). Cheers, AdrianR BTW, There's a TT converted Elise in the ads section if you haven't already spotted it.
