For the last week I have been wading through treacle, and paddling uphill against a torrent of the proverbial.
In other words, trying to get settlement for a claim from an insurance company.

It is remarkable how quick off the mark the charges and installments are levied, and the acerbity with which we are dealt with on any deviation from their requirements.

Equal and opposite, the administration of settlement is remarkable only in how pathetically slow, confused and anarchic the response is.
Herald the employment of the incompetent spotty teenager talking with utmost confidence about something that is totally beyond their experience and understanding.

The term disingenuous springs to mind with regard to some of it.

A V5C which was sent first class post, I was informed, would take two days to arrive.
I was also told on the Wednesday morning (posted Monday) that it had not arrived, that they had checked all the morning post. I was asked to ring back after 16:00, since the second post would have arrived by then.
Chancing my arm, I rang at 13:00. Amazingly the V5C was there in my file. Two days lost.

The same was stipulated about the issue of the settlement cheque - assurance that it would only be printed and mailed by mid-day today.
It was printed and mailed yesterday, and has therefore gone to the wrong address.
Another three days lost while it now clears.

Absolutely Disgusted in Aberdeen.
