Going home last night, northbound through the roadworks at Bishops Stortford on the M11, a Volvo estate, yes (VOLVO)had broken down in the single lane section. He had the sense to pull right in to the Armco and put cones from the roadworks round the car, leaving enough room for everyone to get through.Well done, extremely considerate. cr*p Cambell, I've been cut up more times by Volvos than any other make of car. There is even a official "volvo drivers syndrome" in which drivers believe they are safe and so do not consider other drivers. Its good to hear that there are sensible drivers in all makes (could it be a second car?)

smeagol, You are a neighbour of mine (well, sort of), and I have *way* more trouble with BMW and merc drivers. I will also admit to owning a Volvo as my first car (under duress (sp?) as parents lent me the money, so had a say) More importantly, don't upset campbell, he might go away, and he is such good entertainment. maybe where I live there isn't many volvo drivers that race there cars down the road and cut people up and my ovlov isn't capable of any thing like that and I hate it when you get drivers doing silly overtaking on bad roads, all I want to do is get my gun from the boot and shoot out the tyres OHH Yes I want to

Don't worry I try to keep a low profile when I get these mad moments then it's to the botle which makes me sain again, but dosn't it mot pis you off a little the way some people drive, for instance I watched a right prat this morning overtake in mist with 60 yards visability in a turbo diesel 406 then he past a car on double white lines, now if we tryed any of this we would have proberly been caught out

"Don't worry I try to keep a low profile when I get these mad moments then it's to the botle which makes me sain again" = I see someone driving like a muppet so I take a deep breath and a large swig of Whiskey to calm me down again, officer.... BMW and Mercs are bad (I think its more their arrogance). My experience is with Volvos is that they are in two groups: a) The person that the volvo is the second car and tend to be driven quite well with consideration for others. b) The person whos only car is a volvo and thinks they are immune to damage. (Flat cap blind old people) They approach a junction, look, see a car coming and pull out anyway cos "they're perfectly safe" Campbell knows I would never insult him as I love his postings as well.

Why is it that most bmw drivers think they have an exclusive car. When the truth is you see more on the road than ever now. Id say TVR, Lotus etc are more exclusive as you can go days without seeing one.

Presumably for much the same reason that Vectra SRi drivers think they are in possession of a "performance" car..... Oh how I laughed when one tried to keep up with my Westfield - he did, to his eternal credit, manage to keep it out of the ditch but it was close run thing

I remember a Ford's advert that went "there is only one Sierra". Well, I tell you, it must have got around a lot coz I thought there were thousands of them.

I've noticed a lot more boy racers in BMWs now, must be the low prices of 2nd hand ones. I'm trying to work out what sri stands for cos it ussually means sad w**ker who thinks hes got a performance car! I especially like the ones which have been "souped up" with a 5" exhuast pipe out the back, laugh I thought my pants would never dry
