Will try to post pic of sat-nav screen. How do i post up pictures in posts???
you need to host the pictures online, try www.photobucket.com then copy the URL here with [pic] at the beggining than [/pic] at the end.
email em to me and ill sort it for ya if it sounds too much bother, email me through my profile.
Do you think one of employees at the sat nav makers have a little logger somewhere on their desktop where they keep track of the fastest speeds people get to. Not really meaning are the sat nav companies spying on us - just do you think they have a car nut there that keep track of top speeds out of their own interest? I know I would. A spreadsheet somewhere that I logged all speeds over 180mph.

Eh? How would that work? GPS only receives signal - and then does the calculation. If I remember it is just a very accurate time signal that is broadcast from all GPS satellites and given the difference between the signals - the unit works out where you are.
Can't see how they would track you... unless your GPS transmitted - which they do not.

Fair enough.

If you had asked this question in terms of people with trackers in them....

By chance I have a copy of Autocar 19 May 1999 on my desk.
The cover is their first drive of the GT3, inside under "factfile" they quote
"How Fast?"
Top speed = 188 mph
0-62mph = 4.8 seconds
