The company...not a fetish
They reside in an exceedingly seedy warehouse, but the service is beyond reproach. They sorted the 1D under warranty and serviced the 100-400 in very short order as they knew I was flying home. Top work...highly recommended if you're in the London area.

I wish my 70-200 VR had gone there! Its at Nikon HQ and has been for nearly 4 weeks so far!
Martin, did you get them to sort your busted lens too?
Martin, did you get my e-mail about the cd and weekend? (or are you in a mood with me)

Greg...I'm allways in a mood with you, but it's usually a good one
No I didn't take my broken lens there, but now you've reminded me I think I will.
No, didn't get an e-mail.

I'm thinking I'll send my sigma EX 30mm there. focus is a bit noisey
Interesting that you say that - mine is off to Sigma in the morning for the same reason.
Does yours sound like the focus barrel is rubbing as it moves around - particularly if you point it up at about 45 degrees?

I'd call them first to make sure they do Sigma.
Martin.
They don't
they do
"Fixation is an official Professional Repair Centre for Sigma EX Professional lenses"
hence why I suggested I would send it there

As far as I could gather all new seals and a re-grease, but as something felt knackered (the grittiness) I think there were some extra spare parts needed. And the glass was spotless.

Martin.
I've just read the invoice...the camera repair also includes a free sensor clean (not that it needed one).
