Yeah I did, I always enjoyed the programme, but always prefered the down and dirty mechanical
aspects of it rather than the 'dealing and buying part'. That chap doing the actual work is really pleasant, there is something soothing watching him working on the cars, I don't know if I am the only one.....

Wasn't too impressed; especially when the guest owner said to check the oil for signs of head gasket failure! on a air cooled 911-come on who edited this?

I'd been looking forward to the new series .

I'm sure it's a good thing that you've raised the budget , times are changing and even the younger buyer will have more wads in his arse pocket than say 3-4 years ago.

It would have been nice to see a little more attention to the engine .. Seemed a bit scant to just do a service and say 'That's good for the next 10 years!!'
Maybe if China had detailed what he had checked in the engine , for us enthusiasts.. Although I can understand the programme has to be aimed at a broad spectrum.

I agree with Gulliver that China has a very relaxed 'easy watch' but no BS way about him , and Mike is the perfect foil , playing the 'wide boy' image .. Very similar to the 'Deals on wheels' partnership he had , although the banter I enjoyed so much is missing a little in the current series.

All that said , congrats , well done , it says something that my wife also enjoys watching the show.

E-mail me for details of where to send the cheque!!!!!!

I saw it, enjoyed it - always have done.

Didn't notice any change of format. Best bit is watching the guy working on the car, he knows his stuff.

Not as keen on the dealing bit but I still want to know that all the work has been worth it..... I always laugh when I think how much the labour would have been!

I agree the owner tips on this one were weak.

Methinks someone was a tad nervous about going on telly

I thought it was great though - O/T I am curious about why you do it as 2 30 min shows, rather than 1 1 hour show, as I'd love to see more of Ed's spannering and tips (my favourite part of the show) without loosing to much of Mike Brewer's cheeky/comedy bits, which do serve to lighten the shows.

P.S. I liked the 'Welcome Back' bits after the Ad breaks - very amusing

Looking forward to the rest of the series - are any of the old series available on DVD?

Ok I would be bricking it in front of a camera, but what is the point of the program if information given is incorrect. Is it to show how cheeky chappie is so good at driving a hard bargin or blagging parts for the show or is it to give good advice about the motors featured.

Anyway must rush and get my verniors out to adjust some spark plugs smile

Yeah, spotted that too!

Did enjoy it though, particulary running both episodes consecutively, much easier to follow.

It's entertaining, but BY GOD it's repetitive. What's the point spending 2 minutes after the ad break going over what was covered in the first 8 minutes of the programme (and also at the beginning of the 2nd programme, since they always seem to be consecutive). Same sort of thing happens at the end, with that "Ed ! mate, whatcha done to me motor" bit, when Ed tells us all again what we saw him doing 5 minutes ago.

I watch it using Sky+ to skip over those pointless summary bits and reckon I probably actually only view 20-25 minutes of the whole hour of telly. Why not put more actual material in the time you have available ?

yes

Well said that man. So much more could be covered without the repeating repeating of whats just been seen. I think the shows are otherwise good apart from the dodgy buyers at the end. Also, make it a one hour program as already mentioned and you'll be a lot closer to a better format.

It was OK but drop the silly stuff like where MB turns up to see what Ed's done. As if he didn't know the engine was removed!! Oh yeah and the fake sales at the end - I switch over at that point. Wonder how many cars have been bought by the production staff?

How does checking oil condition show a leaking head gasket on an air cooled motor?
