hello there ultima people,
can any one shed some light,on a 2004 can bright yellow that has been wrote of in the last 8 months the car was hit near side rear.
i have just bought the engine and box out of it.
it is tricked up ! but i dont no to what degre,i would love to find the last owner or any one who can help me with finding out what bhp what cc ect ect
im a v8 virgin so go easy no rough stuff

After sending this post I went to the classified section and guess what!, this motor appears at the top of the Ultima parts page as a 'Peter Knight' motor for sale apparently by this chap. Excuse me if I have the wrong end of the stick but something strange seems afoot here. Don't rush into anything folks, I will be back with more info.

I did speak to Glen last week and expressed an interest in the rest of the parts he said he had but I told him straight, I would not be interested in the engine and box. He asked me to call back and I did several times but felt he treated me poorly and the whole situation just feels a bit weird to me that's all.
The engine that is for sale in the PH Classifieds, is this the same motor which you are inquiring about?. If so, you state in your add that it is a Peter Knight built engine, if you give him a call and quote the I.D. numbers he will verify the spec for you although looking at the photos you emailed me, I don't think it is as it has lots of cheap dress up parts on it, not something Pete would supply but you never know, they may have been swapped over at some point.
well mate thank you for the advise but there is no engine number dhales removed it so it has to be re registerd but i can tell you that the gear box is a get rag six speed and cost ten grand new so lets work it out betwean us who pays ten k for a gear box and then puts a crack lump in errrrrrrrr no body ill keep you up to date and it was ultima them selfs who told me that it was a night engine and there tha boys im told and how many yellow can ams with a get rag 6 speed are there errrrrrrrrrrrr not many ,softly softly catchi monkeys
You seem to be working with an awful lot of ifs, buts and maybes here and whilst I appreciate the fact that you are only trying to find out the engine spec, when adding 2 + 2 the end result is usually 4, not32.3, which seems to be the number you have come up with so far. The Getrag gearbox is indeed an expensive item brand new and can be bought for anything between that and a drink secondhand, as being in the motor salvage trade you well know. To theorize that nobody would put a 'crack' as you put it (I assume you meant 'crap') motor in a car like this is reasonable but who knows what has happened parts wise since?. In the picture you sent me, the gearbox appeared to be damaged and it would be a reasonable assumption that the motor was to. Even if there is no visible terminal damage, it would not be unlikely that the internals are not damaged. Secondhand engines that can not be seen running are worth little but indeed, if it does turn out to be a Knight Racing Services unit and is undamaged, that will undoubtedly increase it's value. As I said, give the fella a ring as even without an engine number he may well be able to shed some light on the matter. Good luck.
thank you for your help and wisdom .i want to learn all i can about what i have the engine started first time and runs very well . i need a new rocker cover and the oil cooler spliter and sump , not the end of the world you said that there was some bling on it ,to be honest i could not see anything that was not very very needed .but when you look at them they are old school very very old school .nothing complicated there ,but have youi seen that twin turbo thing for sale now that is a lump .

the bits that did not get sold on the dhales (bedford) auction may still be at the yard
there is a lad selling the front clip on ph who also has the front section ie brakes rad fans ect and some other bits he is a nice chap and very helpfull
if you have any problems let me know i do a bit of biz with the lads at hales i could ask a few questions for you ill try and find out what happened to the rest of the bits
i did see the cockpit and rear clip and spoiler in the breaking section

Awkward one this, because the Ultima community is so tight nit, many of use know of this car and the unfortunate demise of the previouse owner. If we did not know what we know, it would not have felt as uncomfortable as it does. I am sure that anyone involved feels great sorrow at how these parts came about but what can anyone do? Maybe the insurance company involved should have dealt with the situation a little more sensitively but to them it is just another written off car, and so protocol is followed with regards to such matters.
