No Customer Service With Noble!
Discussion
Hi Noble fans, like you all I love my car. It's a black M12 GTO 3R and she goes like the clappers. Love her!!! Unfortunately, that's where my love affair with Noble ends. I bought the car about 8 months ago and durring this time she has had to go into the garrage at least 6 times for repairs ranging from a split fan belt to my exhaust manifold blowing apart. Cars, especially race cars, have problems. We all accept that but when half the problems are actually caused by the accredited Noble mechanic who's working on your car, well, that's another thing entirely!
So far, I have witnessed a Noble mechanic destroying my ECU when he started to fidle with the fuse box, had my car in the garage for about 2 months due to unknown reasons, been royaly f***ed when servicing her and have generaly been very miss treated by the whole Noble establishment. It's the same old story, once you buy the car the dealer doesn't want to know or care about his recent client. I took one complaint, that of the blown ECU, to Lee himself after the Noble dealer who's mechanic caused the problem started to verbally attack me when I explained that I had seen his mechanic blow my ECU. He was yelling and swearing at me for about 20 minutes. I was so offended by some of the things that the manager of **** **** said to me that I finally complained to the Sales director of Noble. Amazingly, he was just as disinterested in what I had to say as their dealer was. After him, I went to Lee himself and believe it or not, Lee didn't bother to respond to my e-mails even though I had explained exactly the degree of abuse that I was submitted to which any M/D of any company would normaly have been horrified to hear. Lee was worse than useless. Lee mate, you can build a good car but your whole company and all those who represent it (so far at least)are the most unpleasent people I have EVER had to do business with. I assure Noble that I shall not be re-investing in their company. My advice would be, go Porsche. The Germans at least know how to take care of their customers.

Dealer's name removed to comply with rules regarding naming and shaming

I think if the guy has issues then he should be allowed to air them.
I've found similar issues when going back to the dealer a few months after buying and finding that they couldn't wait to get rid of me when they realised it was a problem.
I think the feedback from people generally is that Noble do treat their customers well, although this appears to have gone slightly cold since Micknall left them.
As for dealers, they are to a certain extent, a law unto themselves unfortunately.

Leander, sorry to hear this tale of woe! My 3R was back to the factory 4-5 times in its first year but, unlike your experiences, the staff were competent and worked to resolve issues to my satisfaction. As for your experience with said dealer well, I am raising my brow!
It seems, as I predicted way back in the early days, Noble has changed for the worse and that old legendary customer service is diminishing. I'm surprised that Lee Noble is not appearing to support your issue but, knowing him, I'm thinking that maybe he is being 'forced' by infrastructure to stay out of customer issues these days!
I do hope you try to stick with it and get over this setback!

From personal experience, owning a Noble (or any small volume sports car) has the potential to be very expensive and frustrating.
There are very few 'Noble' dealers who I would let near my car, and even the good ones have their bad days.
The problem is only going to get worse over the coming years as people sell their cars on, and wear and tear takes it's toll (I can show you the bills from 70K miles in a Noble. It's not cheap)
You can pick up a good 2.5L these days for around 20K. It looks like a bargin, but if some Ham fisted dealer messes with the car, you can end up with a 3K bill. And not a leg to stand on.
The dealer who I originally bought my car did almost the same thing and tried to get me to pay for the new ECU, then when I refused tried to palm it off as a warranty claim.
I was livid and needless to say they don't sell Noble's anymore.
I have a feeling this kind of thing is going to start happening more and more.
There was a time when there were a few people at the factory which would listen to this kind of complaint, but I'm sorry to say most complaints will now fall on deaf ears.
Not really a good situation to be in when they want to try and sell a 75K sports car, is it ?

Thanks for your good wishes AMG Merc.
Jools, That's precisely what happend to me and my ECU! The t***ers originaly wanted me to pay for the whole cost of supplying and fitting the ECU that they buggered up!!! Gob smacked, I refused. They then went on to "kindly" suggest that perhaps it could, if I were lucky, be a warranty claim! I ended up putting it on to my warrenty even though it was **** ******'s fault that the ECU blow in the first place. Bunch of incompitant cow boys.
I agree that at the current level of play, Noble's attempt to enter the £75 K + market is laughable.

I've never ever had any issues with the dealer I've dealt with. The servicing has been faultless, and done with far more compentancy than the local BMW garage does with my £56k X5 4.4i.
Don't get me started on BMW dealers - compared to my local one Mole Valley who service my M12/M400 are amazingly good, especially when it came to an exceptionally tricky totally dead electrical problem with the aircon - just £50 of labour and it was sorted.
Add into that the care and attention that Roush engineering showed with my exhaust upgrade and the above isn't anything near my experience
