Boxster Hood/Roof rattles...
Discussion
Chaps,
For some time now, I've had a squeaking/rattling noise from the roof when it's up. Described the situation briefly to my local OPC a few weeks back....they said it's the rubber seals grinding together and that I need to lubricate it. So I duly did this with the stuff they recommended....it's still doing it. Can anyone who's had this problem before give me a hint as to what to use and where to put it to stop the rattles....it's doing my head in!
Cheers,
J.

Hi there
normally they rattle above yor head and its the material rattling against the plastic support bar in the roof its a canvas back job and you put a felt tape over everything and try it down the road again and again and again till it is fixed a little time consuming but did a few under warranty for this problem.
hope this helps

In my experience, some of the worst squeaks can come from the rubber seal between the trailing edge of the soft top and the tonneau cover - although it's quite hard to work this out from inside the car as the sound appears to come from all around - especially if you have the wind deflector fitted. To test for this, try putting your hand on the rear window and bouncing it up and down a bit. Cheers!
