Hopefully picking up my 1st bike on Sunday, while it's at home it will be chained up in the shed, but at work and on the ocasions I pop out and about on it whats going to be the best form of security, at present it's got nothing bar the steering lock, it's not a huge expensive sports bike monster and it's got no luggage space except the small rack/handle on the back so what are my best options?
Are all disc locks/big chains of similar quality once they are sold secure stamped, and are alarms worth the money?

alarms are a bit of a joke, who will here it in the back of the van they have just lifted into?
bike theft suffers from just that, two men can lift a bike into a van and be gone.
disclocks stop drive offs and are difficult to crack, but dont stop lifting.
personally I prefer to chain it to something solid AND use a disclock.
"sold secure" suggests its passed a test of security, that doesnt mean othere wouldnt as well.
Im opening a line of bike security, if you can wait a week or two for the company to get going, I will be offering PH discounts on the squire range.

I don't think you'll find that all locks are equal. May be worth tracking down a half decent mag test ("Ride"? or similar).
I do know that disk locks are really handy little things for when parked up around town. As already mentioned they won't stop a complete lift into a refrigerated van, but neither will the noisiest alarm either!!
Cheap Tip:
If you go the disk lock route, though, get yourself a tatty old piece of tape - like the stuff that they use round some road works. One end goes round the lock, the other round your throttle. Why? Then you would have to be a complete Muppet to attempt to start off without removing the lock!!!!

if you want "ride best buy" this is the blurb from my stockist (any spookily the exact one I use myself) it fits under the saddle when curled up.

I have one of the alarmed disc locks. Its very good and makes a very irritating noise when you try and trigger it!
Think Riossi online are selling them half price at the moment.
I have that combined with a Motrax chain. Advice is good here, lock it to somthing but give it a voice as well. If its parked in a public place then it should at least turn a few heads and put the tea leaf off.
