Anyone at the wet Goldtrack evening last night - my that was slippy.

Note to self - don't use 2nd in slow corners in a a 944t when its wet - reshaping the rear end can easily happen

Said this before, it's a fair idea for most corners in the wet, to use one gear higher than normal, so you're not so embarressed!
Indeed, do you need second on any UK corner (OK maybe Mallory)?

I once had a very wet PCGB track day at Silverstone and found out, that especially on the straight, aqua-planning is a real issue on that track as the water does not run off very well. One GT2 driver went off into the tyrewall on the Hanger Straight and pretty much shortened the wheelbase by 30 cm. Useful learning when driving on public roads.

Depends upon the car... In a GT3, there are plenty of corners which are better taken in 2nd (if you're on track day tyres rather than slicks) but I assume this is due to the GT3s long ratios.

I was there in the yellow GT3, first day out on the track in it - not ideal in the soaking wet but had a blast none the less. Hope your car is not too bad, certainly did not look anywhere near as broken as the old red M3 that went off in the same place at the end of the evening. It looked like it would be headeing for scrap.

The car isn't too bad. Its just for the track really so I doubt we'll do much to fix it. Probably just shove it back into something approahcing the right shape.

Hopefully next week will be a bit drier!
