I am seriously considering replacing the TT X50 with a 997GT3 and I am curious to see what specs and colours others have chosen. Also what delivery times has everyone been quoted?

I am getting a little bored of silver so if I go for the GT3 it is going to be yellow!!

David.

KTR we have sort of been through this before several times, you could do a search, or we could enjoy ourselves by posting it all again: vote?

I have used the search but alot of the posts about delivery dated etc are at least a couple of months old. I just wanted to get some up to date feed back.

Could not find many deatils about chosen specs as I am assuming not many people specced their cars when placing the deposit, again I would like to see if this has now changed.

Early reports seem to confirm that the new 997 GT3 will be equally at home on both the road or track. And, if it really is as good as is being suggested, then it could be one of the best new 911s for many years - perhaps the best ever. Specs will therefore rather depend on intended use.

Those planning, predominantly, track use will probably go for the Club Sport pack with the lwt bucket seats, or perhaps go for the RS.

Those intending to use it predominantly 'on road' will probably go for rather more toys, comforts and conveniences.

Colours are personal, and IMO the new GT3 is so good looking that it wears almost any colour successfully.

Most contentious issue is probably PCCBs, where views seem equally divided. See other thread

I have just put my final £5k spec deposit down (thats £15k they have relieved me of now!) I have gone for metallic black, leather option, xenons, upgraded sound system, red belts and special order mats, fat steering wheel. Get it November.

I've a GT3 RS coming in March and I plan to got for Pure Orange (tired of silver and black - non colours), Will actually get PCCB, sound upgrade, satnav and maybe even the TV option. I need something to watch whilst waiting for track time. I know this is a bit soft for an RS spec but just because it is a track car does not mean it cannot be versatile also.
I'll be using the car for both track and some commmuting so arguably I should have gone for a standard GT3 but I love the whole RS look.

Red. Clubsport with bucket seats. Satnav and a few other bits and pieces. Arrives Oct/Nov. depending on who you believe!
Yorkie997s - why on earth did you give your OPC another £5k! Mine asked and I pointed out (very politely!) that, since they had been sitting on £10k of my money for quite sometime, have announced delays and can't give a delivery date yet, they might like to reconsider - they haven't asked again.

Will not be speccing mine up till November (for March deliv). I've managed to 'save' myself £1600 already - I was going to get colour sample to metallic but changed my mind at the last minute and am now going for one of the 'cheaper' metallics.
I'm undecided though now whether to put that £1600 towards PCM (£1921). I'm struggling to get a definitive answer on what sports chrono pack actually does over and above the normal chrono pack - you can only get the sports chrono with PCM.
My other options include cruise control, rear console in exterior colour, tyre pressure monitoring system, bi-xenons, silver belts, natural grey leather, thicker leather steering wheel. Not sure on crests in seat headrests yet.

If you have PCm you can then get a TV reeiver but only terestrial - I have it on my wifes Cayenne and it is much more fun than I imagined

Ok ok, any excuse to talk GT3's again...
Artic Silver, full leather, Xenons, upgraded stereo, sat nav & phone, cruise, seat crests.
Still plenty of time to change my mind as mine isn't arriving until next March, so will poke around Reading & view a few options, hopefully see a few Piston heads cars before nailing them to the post 100%!

According to the website you can get an upgrade to get digital TV as well as analogue, but it seems to be Cayenne only, unless I'm missing something ?

Seems strange that the Cayenne has a significantly different PCM/Nav functionality than the rest of the range ??

Save your money. All it does allow you to watch the stop watch function also on the PCM, allow you to save some settings for air, lights, etc. (check the configurator where it exactly explains everything) Actually nothing useful. And if dont get it then you avoid the ugly clock on the dash. Only the GT3 allows for that as the sport button comes standard.

White
Bi-Xenons
Club Sport
Carbon Buckets
PCM
Carbon entry guards
Red Belts
Floor mats
Speaker system

Not been asked for an additional 5k - that would be bloody cheeky in the absence of a firm delivery date!

We should really get some sort of GT3 PH member list/register drawn up between us incl contact details, location, car details etc.

Perhaps get a "sticky" 997GT3 topic set up so all the posts can go into one section that we can keep updating?

If someone joins later then all the info/ past postings are there for them?

Just an idea!

Cheers - Phil

Hmmmm, Sports Chrono Pack w/out that ugly clock on the dash, just a button to push. Wonder if I can get them to do that on my 997TT order, under personlisation program? I have already got them to agree to delete the electric sunroof. Final spec has to be in by September for February delivery.
