Block & head ID
Discussion
First post here, Please help if you can.
Is the metro turbo block different from the normal A plus block? and if it is can it be identified externally
from casting numbers. Can an unleaded head be identified
externally as well in the same way.
I have loads of Mini bits and bobs but my knowledge of
part numbers ends around the late 70's.
Please help if you can

The casting numbers on the block unfortunately bears no resemblence to the original specification for the engine.
and in reality once machine, the original spec of the engine is of no importance anyway, other than if it's an A or A+, if it's using plain or groved main bearings, and I suspect the crank determining the size of the big ends.. other than that the blocks are pretty much the same.
