I currently sport the standard Mich Pilot Sports - I'd welcome thoughts on tried and tested alternatives as I'm set to replace the rubber.A search of the Forum showed some enthuisiasm for F1 Eagles.

Eagle F1 GSD3 and Pirelli P zero nero seem to be the tyres of choice. Toyo Proxes T1-s also have a good reputation. I think Autocar did a tyre test recently - check for back issues...

I would go with the goodyear f1s because they arent too costly and they grip like a bastard. I have got them on my car and im well happy .

Flying trotter, what tyres did you get in the end? I was about to get 4 conti's that dealership told me to get, but what was your conclusion?

Contis are OK, not the same ultimate grip, but quite predictable and last reasonable well - and much more stable in the wet (IMHO)

as I'm toying with making a change - probably a return to pork - I took a great deal on 2 pilots - £240 for 2 fronts - I've been down in Cornwall over the W'end and the whole package has been tested out and proved to be great

should have added - the wheel alignment was well out - good old speed bumps - the change has made a massive difference - suspect it masks any tyre issues

I had Michelin Pilots and they were great in wet and dry. Just changed for the cheaper Pirelli P zeros all round and just find myself wheel spinning with just a touch of the gas pedal !! Pilots not only look better but they are a much better all round tyre.

One more thing I have just bought front and rear ventilated discs , plus pads, plus sensors from a reputable german car dealer (was going to buy cross drilled but heard too many bad reports, warping, cracking, plus these are for high speed so no need for them). These are all the more expensive German make rather then Italian!!! This was a mere £ 163 plus I paid £ 60 for fitting!!! So spent £223, not bad seeing my mate went to BMW and paid over 600 quid !!!!
It now stops on a sixpence !!!
