I wouldn't say that - she didn't pinch one of them

It has been posted before but I think it's worth the repost for those who missed it first time. Awesome vid.

Hmmmmm, there were a couple of 'questionable' manouvres on Sabines part, however most of the bikers were being quite selfish, mistakenly assuming they'd be the quickest thing on there and totally oblivious to what's going on behind them.

Having been fortunate enough to have had a lap around the ring with Sabine in the M5, I can fully appreciate just how handy one would have to be to keep up with her!!

I might point out that the chap in the GT3, was not, having to try to hard to keep up.
Plain to someone who has been in these situations before.
Also you can see her clumsy inputs to the steering; she could do better.

Mark.

[she would be good at driving tanks though]

I had a really good run with the taxi earlier in the year - they had Hans Stuck and Claudia Hurtgen running the taxis on a Sunday after a VLN. I spotted Stuck going out and thought it would be fun to watch. I was in front down to SX and indicated to let him pass into Aremburg but he didn't want it. I ran in front for the whole lap (to be honest it would have been nice to watch from beind).

Afterwards I went up and we had a chat. Nice.

If you watch the video again you might get the impression she was show-boating rather than driving clumsily. She was driving a lardy arse BMW with passengers (we assume). The GT3 should be far quicker so the driver 9especially if was solo) would have to be crap not to keep up. The way she launched the car off the kerb was intentional and probably for the benefit of her passengers. She certainly took more risk around the bikers than I would. You wouldn't need much contact between car and bike to have a bikers death/serious injury on your conscience.

Nail hit on head, E39 M5 1720kg , 400hp plus driver and most likely three passengers.
Mk 1 GT3 (Judging by the way the brakes were rumbling ) 1350kg, 360hp plus driver and passenger. No contest.

As for her "treatment" of the bikers, I imagine Sabine gets "held up" by bikers more often than anything else, the large majority of which consider themselves to be the next Valentino Rossi (and as the driver of the GT3 was heard to say "think they're going quicky" when all they're actually doing is using up most of the width of the circuit and compromising Sabines lines.
Small wonder she treats them with such contempt when they obviously don't use their mirrors.

It's tricky isn't it - but no matter how much the bikers ignore what is behind them, and no matter how annoying that is to the car behind, it is surely unaccaptable to risk their lives by dodgy overtaking.

I find it incredibly annoying that bikers do not look (or do not care) what is behind them (though some car drivers do this too) - if you barge through and end up killing someone, how will you feel?

Sabine has had a few incidents in the taxi this year - I think her overtakes are possibly getting a little aggressive now.

Yes, it is a MK1 - yellow - the driver knows the track very very well. That is the key point - the driver knows the track well - no matter what you drive, it is difficult to keep up with Sabine in the taxi unless you do know the track well. And of course, she is putting on a show - she doesn't drive like that when she's racing.

Does anyone happen to know approx. taxi laptimes for both the previous M5 and the current one?
I'd guess the current one is about 8:30 BTG.

Nice vid and great fun to watch. Yes the overtaking on the right is bang out of order - she only did it to put some distance between her and the GT3. Anytime a gap built up the GT3 closed it up really quickly. Not suprising really - a Vauxhall VX220 ( driver only) can keep up with the taxi (4 up).

Whats the red light on the dash of the GT3?
