Has anyone made the change from the factory Avo shocks to the Intrax ones? Do the Intrax shocks ride better or worse on the average poorly maintained British roads? Not so bothered about track performance, as I'm sure my skills would be the limiting factor.

I think I am right in saying the factory use Intrax and maybe some others have supplemented these with Avo. I know one that has used Nitron with good results and Protech look quite good. I have Ohlins dampers and Eibach springs on the GTW, hopefully this will prove to be a good decision.

The "standard" factory items are Avo, with Intrax being an upgrade. I have the Avo shocks, and I am only really interested in comments from people who had the Avos, then switched to Intrax, and can tell me if it is a worthwhile change for road use.

I had the intrax from the start.... but only point is, two of then started leaking after 4 years or so, - discovered you need to send them to HOLLAND to be rebuilt. About £150 total cost, takes a week or so, just a bit of a pain to send to HOLLAND (or via factory but they still go to Holland)

My point being I think you could find similar replacements for a lot less, and can get them fixed locally ???

Hi,

I ordered the intrax dampers but changed to a whole new
dampers/spring combination by KW-Suspensions. www.kw-suspension.com/en/
It has been exclusively made and set up for me here in germany
at kw´s headquarter by their competition/racing division.
It is adjustable in height, draft and pressure.

To YiiHaa: In addition to the intrax, the kw also balances and
absorbes poor maintained german roads, so it should be working
very nicely in UK too :-)

Hi HCT,

Yes, my GTR is fully road legal and officially registered

I live in germany, too. That´s why.

edit:
Ask the right people and you get the right answers.
Is your GTR black? Yes means i´ve got a good chance to spot it occasionally (because I live in the area its registered).

Hi HCT,

Let me put it like this. If you will see a black GTR in Germany,
it´s extremely probable, that you see mine (it´s the 2nd GTR
on Germanys streets as far as I know, and the only one in
black :-)....You also live in Stuttgart ? Do you have an Ultima
also ? Or are you just interessted in ?

Can´t afford one at the moment, so im just interested. Im studying engineering of vehicles and engines (Fahrzeug- und Motorentechnik) at the university of Stuttgart. Small, light midengined car with a V8 should catch my attention.

I´ve asked an KW engineer and he told me that a black Ultima from Stuttgart has been to Fichtenberg to get a new suspension, that´s why I know its colour.
