...which is your trusted independent in or near the West London area, say Kensington, Fulham or the likes of it? I am looking for recommendations for someone to service and care over the coming years an 18 year old Carrera 3.2 which I hope to collect tomorrow...

I've used Chelsea Carrera (near West Brompton tube) in the past for servicing and was very happy with them.

Last service was done by Porschembri (Hounslow) and they did a great job.

I think both of them advertise in 911 & Porsche World magazine.

Firstly, congrats on the purchase. The nearest to you is probably Charles Ivey in Putney. There's also Jaz in Wembley and GT One in Chertsey. I've not used any of them so cant give a personal recommendation. I can recommend JZ Machtec in Herts - a bit further out but great guys.

RGA in Vauxhall - used them for about 3 years now - highly recommended.

Won't name names, but this year I used the chaps near West Bromption. Have to say that I was not entirely happy. To be fair to them, they had one guy off sick at the time, but I didn't feel that they were as thorough as say JZM, to whom I shall be returning next year, even though getting there is a pain in the ar5e.
