NEPH run out first weekend in september?
Discussion
How about a re-run of the fabulous roads up to the north and beyond that we did a couple of years ago?
same formula, meet at mine just off the A1 early on saturday morning,
gentle run down the A1 to our stomping ground while the oil warms through...then hey-ho for the open road and our pre planned route
can we have absolutely NO DISCUSSION OF THE ROUTE AT ALL even potential routes as we really don't want anyones' day spoiled by having plod lurking.
The route is one that TVRBob and I know pretty well, and will be distributed to members that we know either both of us or individually to avoid anyone we don't know/like/trust attending. we are trying to avoid any dickhead drivers except the ones we know and love (i.e me
)
we're looking at a good combination of twisties and fast cruising roads so as to be suitable for all types of car, there will be maps given out with waypoints and meeting places at strategic point so no one feels the need to keep up with the pack...although I fully expect there to be a bit of friendly rivalry
As an aside, there will be a few of us going in to newcastle on the saturday night for a feew convivial drinks probably starting at the head of steam for some good ales and lagers but if there is enough interest then we can get a restaurant booked for something at least initially a bit more subdued (before we all go to the carling academy
)

When you looking to do this?
I'm looking into selling the Skyline but will probably still have it in September.
Also what is the score on the beer front?
Would be up for a Friday meet in Newcastle as I'm usually on the drink from about 2pm on a Friday anyway. Working the the Quayside can be a right pain

I was thinking about doing the beer after the event that way we are all sober and compos mentis for a good drive, we can get up early to meet up so the roads are clearer and crucially, we can discuss the days derring-do's in the pub afterwards...so it's saturday night for the beer I reckon

plus I think that asking people to book in to a hotel, get off work on friday, go home and change and pack then drive to newcastle might be pushing it...as most the people coming would not be as lucky as we are in living in newcastle

F.A.O Everyone
there are hotels very close to where I live and they vary in price/quality, alternatively you can stay where the hell you like

I have got a good route already planned out of approximately 110 miles which will be emailed out to people nearer the time
the roads wil be suitable for every type of car (within reason

if there are enough people then I can book a restaurant perhaps with the hard core lot then staying out with me to party

Fair enough.
I have a secure bay on the Quayside which someone could use if needed. I don't think I can make the day event, but I would be up for meeting for a beer that night.

cool, just come along to the beer then!
p.s if you want a beer in jesmond it's only 30 seconds from my office to osborne road

Same goes for me and the Quayside if you ever fancy an extended lunch.
If I do manage to get to the run out I will have to get the Nitrous bottle filled up.
