M15 sales figures put in perspective.

There has been much discussion about whether the M15 will be a success. That comes down solely to how many are sold.

I found some interesting sales figures yesterday that put into perspective just who few might need to be sold in order to be viewed as "a success"

Lombo Gallardo sold 160 in 2004
Lambo gallardo sold 60 in 2005
911 turbo has averaged 500 per year over last 4 years.
360 ferrari managed 400 per year over same span.

10 yrs ago.

Ferrari 355 sold 260 per year at best and the 911 turbo just 140 per year.


All these figures are for UK sales only. They do however go to show how the "super successful" marques fair. I was suprised at these figures being so low.

This means that if Noble sell 250 M15's per year, they are doing very very very well indeed!!

Your figures put into perspective the importance of getting the M15 type approved and federalised. Noble sell at reasonably similar volumes to equivilent Porsches and Ferraris in the UK but obviously world wide they don't sell very many at all compared to Ferrari or Porsche. If they can sell at UK levels world wide they will be looking at moving into the territory of being a manufacturer that sells thousands a year.

I suspect one of the best way to get some world wide attention would be to get the M15 into as many feature films and global advertising features as possible. Hollywood might actually be quite interested ref: the TVR Tuscan used in Swordfish, the producers wanted a dramatic looking car that American audiances wouldn't recognise.
