Did you hear the crap Hammond was spouting in his review of the new Noble?
"If this was a TVR the indicators would be on the roof and the doors would open inwards on a do-decahedral hinge. On this, the doors open outwards, like a door should do...."

In the real world, the guys who buy TVRs or Nobles are likely to know pretty much all there is to know about the respective manufacturer's offers. If TVR did put the door buttons in the roof I'd still be inclined to buy the TVR (rather than the Noble) and save - what was it ? - approx £20,000. That'll buy a lot of petrol, tyres, servicing etc.... And you can't take the roof off a Noble and put it in the boot.
I thought he was funny .. and what other manufacturer would put bloody door release buttons either side of an effing radio FFS! 
Even i get confused getting out of all the different TVRs and I bloody work on them all week long! I'm forever trying to find door buttons in chimaeras, pull centre console handles in cerberas, press next-to-radio buttons in Tamoras (oh hang on, ..no : that's right isn't it?)
Door release is one area TVR do very very very badly. They even have to give you a manual release for the times the electrics let you down. Final score: Sense of occasion 1 practicality 0
Fact is the Noble rocks! The Noble will kick TVR butt aswell. It's a great car (bit expensive though) .. but still a great car .. looks, performance, no-nonsense thrill seeker's car with added practicality. I hope it does really well.
I've long-said that TVR go waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay over the top on over-complicated electrogadgetry and confusing cabins .. and Hammond has just summed it all up in one easy soundbite.

Every time I drive the Missus Beemer I:
1) Can't get in: No button on the wing mirror
2) Can't start it. No key just a slot and a start button
3) Can't toe and heel 'cause of the suspended break pedal
4) Can't get out as there's no button to press!

Pesonally I liked the review. TVR do overcomplicate matters at times, granted I think the door release stuff they do is kewl and funky, but it is very gimmicky - lets be honest there!
The M15 looks a lot lot better than the initial car, that really was a boring anodyne designm even bordered on ugly for me. This new version looks a lot lot better, the interior is still boring and rather lacking in inspiration and the "boot space" isnt exactly in the TVR or Porsche league. Im also a little confused what happened to its performance. I was under the impression it was mooted as the 911tt killer, not the 911 killer? Ppl were quoting 0-60 at 3.2 seconds and M14/400/whatever other numbers Ive forgotten track performance, but it was much slower than I expected around the track. I was amazed it was slower than a 360CS or GT3RS, the thing was meant to murder them. Have Noble turned the performance wick down? At £75k and with 911tt killing performance *and* the new looks I could be tempted, but for £75k, that little boot space and the non killer performance = a for me.

for me.The trouble with the little F**t and the rest of the TG mob is that they are what the average joe public see and hear about models they will never own! Whether we like it or not that's the way it is.

When we did the Boxster versus TVR Tamora on Driven (C4) the TVR's punished the Boxsters (who both broke down and had to be pushed in place). Guess what won the test? Yup the Boxsters (they had to edit out the screams of fix on the airing!).
Accept the fact that really TG is now the new version of 'Last of the Summer Wine' and it makes it easier to laugh it off.

Have to admit, I think the Mrs has enjoyed this last series more than me - I just feel that everything is so blatently staged it became a tad boring and predictable. It turned into cheap entertainment - like a myriad of other TV shows you can watch (some parts probably nicked off Brainiac!) I didn't mind the comments, expected nothing else, but I did find myself playing Rome half way through the show (same last week), whilst the Mrs watched the rest.

Lets not get over sensitive with this one. It was, after all, only a short, witty remark. No harm done, and i don't think TVR sales are going to suffer because of it. If anything, might do them a favour being portrayed as makers of cars that are 'out of the ordinary'.
