I am looking in topurchasing my first 996 and I keep seeing adds for "911Virgin", has anyone here used them to buy a car from?

Anything good or bad to say, before I go see them and depart with serious cash?

Thanks in advance

Henry F (911 Virgin) is a regular poster on this forum and is a well respected guy.

Name and shame rules prevent anyone being able to say anything negative about him with regard to his business dealings.

A search for Henry F and a read of his posts will give you a good impression I'm sure.

It worked for me!

You're spot on there, those bastards should work for nothing.

Great if you are looking for an odd spec, odd colour, high mileage but well cared for Porsche...at 2 different prices (!)

That's the spirit. They should all register as charities!

He's a good guy. Good reputation.

Rude as fk sometimes but don't let that put you off.

Good luck.

PS Don't ask about mileage unless you've got an hour or so to spare.....

20% profit margin when everyone knows the RIGHT price..im amazed they still get away with it,maybe the finance issue helps out coz not many punters got any cash...

Thanks for posting that.

Just to recap, as these threads pop up every now and again, you will only be able to hear positive things if you post a question like this, because of naming and shaming rules. This will only be of limited use. Asking people in the pub or by email can get more direct answers - but people may have an agenda. I have heard bad things about almost EVERY independent and OPC in some way or another. That is not to say that some should be avoided, just that even the good ones p1ss people off now and again!

Please SEARCH the forum in the first instance before starting these threads.

Cheers

Think his cars are not as hideously priced as some dealers (especially at bug price) and they seems to be "what it says on the tin", think he has the experience now that he avoids the duffers quite well.

Some people love his honesty, some find him a little too honest (abrupt, blunt), but i think everyone would agree he's unique

When he posts on here it's obvious he knows his business and he knows the cars.

I did search first and only managed to find 2 referances to them, thus the question.

I was not fully aware of the name and shame rules on this forum, (I am normally in SELCO lotus forum and they do name and shame).

I'll try me best to behave from now on

I do beleave he makes a profit, but i dont think it will be 20%, not on his bug price anyway?
He supplies a service and you pay for that, When I first got my 996 I know I wasn't confident enoght to buy privatly, maybe now but for a 911 virgin I think the good indys that are know to this forum are a good way forword.

I would imagine most dealers (non OPC) would have about 10% profit in each car right?

Buy a car at £25k, spend £1.5k on bits and a warranty, retail for £30k?

I bought a 993 Targa from them two weeks ago today and can only praise both the service and the car. On our first visit we were shown the car, history etc., were given two test runs (one for myself and one for my son) and on our return were left alone to inspect the car for as long as we wanted (apart for an interuption to ask if we'd like a drink). All questions were answered openly and they were more than willing to remove the spare wheel and carpet from the luggage compartment to see if I could fit a wheelchair in the space (in the event it wouldn't fit but it sits nicely on the back seat). As for high mileage issue, our car had done 75000 miles, supported with a full history) which I don't think is excessive. If I'd bought a very low mileage car then I'd had to have paid a lot more. An indi inspection was done on the car and the required work was carried out...new wiper blades and plastic rear spoiler blind! When we collected the car we were met at the railway station (we'd travelled from S.Wales). I've seen a few negative posts about them but the same goes for other dealers. It might be that a lot depends on the attitude of the customer...politeness works two ways! Anyway, I'd certainly deal with them again...although I'm enjoying the car too much right now to think that far ahead
