Been researching subtle mods for my E34 540i and these guys seem to be the only people who do an exhaust for my car. Not too fussed about power indrease - just want the V8 sound really (frustrated ex TVR owner )

Anyone got any tales?

You will be able to get powerflow to make you up an exhaust and they can tune it to your sound preference. There are lots of suppliers that do powerflow exhausts, but I recomend going to a place called Top Gear. There advert quotes prices from £399 for an E34 5 series which I sourced from BMWCar magasine and they appear to be a bit of a BMW specialist. There telephone number is 01308 425895 and the shop is based in Burnley and St Albans. There web site is www.topgear.co.uk. I will be going there in a couple of weeks to have a stainless fitted on my 635csi which they have quoted £450 which I think is pretty reasonable.

Kelleners do arguably the best sounding of the aftermarket exhausts. I'm going to look at getting one for my M5 when I can afford it.

I did have a Powerflow exhaust made up for my G60 Corrado a number of years ago, and it's still going strong. The fit was great and the service good too. Would recommend them, but only from my experience. Others have had different levels of success with Powerflow.

I had a powerflow made for an E36 318is a few years ago and despite looking great and being VERY well made, it sounded bloody awful.

Far too loud and boomy despite having fairly beefy silencers on it.
