I'm very pleased to say i've joined the Nobility !!

hoping to pick it up early next week when the funds clear

its a 2003 GTO3 with 6 speed box and ATB differential

its done 5,000 miles and is super mint in condition in portifino blue

it has M400 springs and suspension as set up by the factory and is rather good on the twisty stuff

its got a FP intercooler and fan and a track day sump too

Does it have the anti roll bar?

Portofino (i think) blue is a lovely colour, congratulations.

The car is going to be modified slowly to get the most from the standard turbo's and internals - using an aftermarket ecu

i will then fit a set or larger turbo's and push the boundries when I have found a gearbox that will take the grunt

my counterpart in the states has already had 670 HP at the wheels and i'm hoping to better this with the right cylinder heads

a 4.0 litre engine is also a possibilty - but its early days

First thing i'm going to look at is the airflow over the intercooler - the lads at VeganTune have some great idea's here and have a spare rear clam shell for some testing

can't wait to get it - it seems like forever waiting for the car !!!!!

can you guys remember your first day of ownership ?

p.s - it doesn't have the front anti roll bar - i've been warned this can cause understeer ?

Congrats on your purchase

Think it might be a good thing it doesn't have the front ARB. After chatting to Lee my M400 is going in to have it's own ARB removed.. He agreed it could lead to a bit more of the dirty understeer creeping in, and he only put it on the M400 under duress anyway!

670 hp at the wheels? Do you happen to have a dyno chart? I'd love to see the curve on that thing, it must be a monster. Whose vehicle?

the car with 670 atw was owned by a customer in the USA - I have asked to display the graph on a forum but he has declined to let us post it

apparently the chassis lapped up the extra power - but it did trash the differential

i'm not sure if it was a 5 or 6 speed box

Well done Gag and welcome along!!

Looking forward to seeing your mod progress.

Have been thinking about a Roush system and M400 g'box linkage myself.

I would personally not remove the ARB as I feel that a little understeer is far better and safer than a whole lot of oversteer. It makes the car more predictable on the limit IMO.

670 @ wheels, so say 750. 250bhp per ltr. Hhhmmm, I think I'll take that with some dead sea....

Never had a problem with understeer in the M400. It's there but I found it no problem to drive around it. Better to work around a little understeer then oversteer IMHO.

Ciao!
What you do with the gearbox in your modified?
Even my M400 has some "good things" in the engine, but we left the same torque because the gearbox it's not so strong...we've fit an IC for the gearbox to let the temp. lower...it seems to work even in Monza but if I push up the pressure I've afraid to destroy my gearbox...
