I need to check my caster angle. I understand the basics but just need to confirm the maths. To start with I have 1.5 degrees of negative camber. Do I just turn the front wheel 20 degrees from straight ahead measure the angle, do the same in the other direction measure the angle, deduct the static 1.5 degrees add the two differences together and multiply by 1.4 to give caster angle. For example say I get 3 degrees each way deduct the static camber angle of 1.5 degrees = 1.5 x 2 = 3 x 1.4 = 4.4 degrees of caster.

Almost right.

Turn it 20 degrees each way from dead ahead, measure the 'camber' at these points then subtract one from the other.

Static camber has nothing to do with castor in terms of measurement.
