Speed Humps - Tell me I am not alone.........
Discussion
FECK, ARSE, RMS........
Drove off a one way speed ramp (doesn't drop on one side - tries to slow oncoming traffic) - heard a god almighty crunch...god dam Red Ken. Some friends of my g/f wanted a spin in the car so gunned the last 20 yrds forgetting about the drop.
Anyhow, the bottom of my front bumper is scratched. Cannot be seen unless on hands and knees which is a blessing.
So, anyone else suffer those crunching moments........anyone every bother spraying? SO PI S S ED OFF RIGHT NOW.

Ah yes - "the noise". Only a couple of months into ownership and I am used to it already. Fortunately the plastic lip on the bottom of the aerokit (which is cheapish and a clip on replacement if it ever comes to it) takes the brunt and nothing with paint gets to bite the tarmac on mine. Slowing down to walking pace for speed bumps is maddening, but just view it as a reason to give it a kick and listen to that exhaust note whenever you clear one.

Yep it happens to me regualrly. I work in Brentwood, Essex and the speed humps are as steep as the north face of the eiger.
My standard Carrera has lots of underchin screathes. Generally I can forget them, but then get really p*ssed off when cleaning the car and realise the mess the humps are making.

Just reread my post, don't want it to sound like I'm belittling what happened.
When we had a S2000 my wife scratched underneath the front bumper on a low kerb. We had it patched up and you couldn't tell. Week later she did the same thing (yeah I know, but I can't afford a divorce). Just came to accept that these things are going to happen with a sports car in an urban environment.
From then on I didn't bother with it until I came to sell, even then I probably shouldn't have bothered.
It's just really frustrating, especially seeing how mint yours is. Think the first one is the worst, unfortunately something similar may happen again.
If it's any consolation the wind caught my door and smacked it into a metal bin when I was filling up yesterday. I've now got two massive chips in the door. I was pretty annoyed until I started it up and drove off, then the smile came back.....
The main thing is you've got a lovely 911 to enjoy.

Nope I had one of the very first in the country a 99, ordered it at the motor show before there was even an official pic of it. Was offered nearly £3k to walk away instead of collecting it, which was the original intention. Wife wanted it and the rest is history.
Unfortunately it beats a MG Maestro as the worst car I've ever owned.

If it's any consolation , Irish, I was throwing the cover on the car just now and I noticed anothersizeable door ding .. Most likely from the staff carpark this morning ... Grrrrrrrrrr
A friend of mine was returning to his week old beemer the other day , and spotted a colleague putting her (not too petite) work bag on his bonnet while she locked her car ....
I get into a sweat just thinking bout it...............
