Rear screen help

Any advise?

I had the rear screen replaced in my Griff about six months ago due to the stitching giving up. A nice job and well done too.

Noticed about a month ago a 3/4 inch horizontal slit in the screen over the offside roof stay. I can't imagine that the screen gets caught when being put down. I guess someone's put a knife through it - but why such a small slit and not a proper knife job?

anyhow any ideas if this is repairable? - I don't want to fork out for another new screen

Very much doubt it without it looking like a right bodge. Martrim in Cheshire seem to know their onions.

It might well be due the the screen folding on itself as the roof stay squashes it. Worth making sure everything's as comfortable as possible when you drop the roof.
As for repair, all I can think of is clear waterproof tape on both sides (called weather tape or something - from a hardware store) and a cool-looking sticker over the top to hide it. Pistonheads do some...
