Are there any roads that are a sweet drive within the M25. I'm going mad with all these gatsos and traffic jams.

within the M25? That's a tall order.

The road from Barnet to the M25/A1 junction is pretty good, but there's only a mile or so of it.

The roads around The Grove are pretty good and just inside the M25.

Bit of an odd one, but:

Near Warlingham

Burntwood Lane, Wandsworth Common-Wimbledon dog track - amusing traffic calming

B556 near South Mimms

Plus the airport roads at Heathrow and City, so long as they're quiet.

Along that road I've passed quite a few people who've had accidents with themselves.

the A23 from the M25 to purley is good for a blat when it's not busy...as is the A3. in fact, the A3 before it gets to be a 50 zone (watch the scamera!) is fantastic! I once erm (cough) heard of a person who managed to eke 133mph out of his company beemer late at night around that area...

...apparently there is some video footage...

Nice bit of road - trouble is it's quite narrow in places with crumbly edges with some tight corners...

I like to come back that way if I've been around and about in 7oaks/ide hill area - shame it ends up in a really tedious 30 limit into Croydon

WRT A23 - I can't stand it! cameras everywhere, road is a mess in Coulsdon too, mostly 30 limit as well now, I think you'd be a mug to race down there even on the d/c bits. When heading from Purley to the M25 now I always go across to the A217 recommended by Towman a while back. Much quicker unless it's the dead of night.

Nice bit of NSL just inside the M25 off the A10 around Crews Hill (near Enfield)
