I was told that Audi RS Blue and Audi Nogaro Blue are different colours. Anyone have chapter and verse on it?
I held back my anorak tendancies when clubsport posted, but you've tipped me over the edge.
As far as I'm aware Audi have only ever referred to an "RS Blue" for the pearlescent colour used on the RS2/4/6 range.
It has popularly been referred to as "Nogaro" but this is not the official name. Edited to add: I'm sure Keith is just looking after the car for me until I can get my hands on it ....

So do RS blue and Nogaro look different to each other when parked next to each other???
I'm not sure there is a Nogaro at all ... clubsport said:
I have also seen a few RS Audis advertised as Nogaro blue.....JC check the paint code on yours if you get a chance so that we can compare.
My paint code is LZ5M which is described in the contemporaneous sales catalogue as "RS Blue pearl effect" - sales code M8.
Have a look at this link found on google to see what name they have against that paint code;

Ah yes, but are you going to believe some random paint shop that advertises on the web, or Audi themselves? www.performance-cafe.com/product_info.php?products_id=1256
It is quite possible that Audi started to use the name Nogaro some time after 1994/5 (anorak I may be, but I haven't collected all the Audi brochures so don't know
) and hence it has been coined for this (or similar) blues. I suspect that the popular (mis)use of Nogaro has resulted in paint suppliers referring to is as such.Just out of interest....slightly bored...and more time on my hands than required I phoned my local Audi dealer parts department and asked him what colour paint code LZ5M was......his response..
"NOGARO BLUE"
That M'lord concludes the case for the defence
SG Smith Audi on 0208 464 7070 if you are as bored as I am!!!

If it's OK with you I'll stick with Vic/Keith in describing it as the historically correct RS Blue.
With your anorak credentials and collection of photos of roll bar stickers I'm sure you'll appreciate my stance.
