'Dream Rides' on the runway for charity organised by Sporting Bears on the Saturday 15 Feb.
Cars incl: Skyline; Porsche 964 Cup Car & Boxster; Alfa Romeo Spyder; Lotus Exige and Elise; Mini Cooper; TVR Tuscan; Lotus 7; Caterham 7; Sunbeam Tiger; Dodge Viper; AC Cobra; Merc 500; Ferrari;
Cost between £10-20, £5 less for children. Ride will involve a standing start and three 'laps' of an oval (not THE oval, unless you've got wings, water wings that is!!) on the Brooklands runway.

Just had this letter from Sporting bears:
BROOKLANDS CHAOS GENERATES £1,750+!!
(Now over £2K and rising)
As anticipated, it weas pretty chaotic, caused in the main by no overall management of the rest of the activities happening on site, particularly parking. However, the Bears held it all together, and given that we only had a couple of clear track hours, we did very well indeed.
Our hourly rate was as good as we could have hoped for and with some match funding from Canon through one of our drivers (the bloke who left the oil slick in the Brooklands paddock!) we raised a very respectable sum.
The split will be £1010 for the Victoria Centre for disabled children in Poole and £750 to the children's education section at Brooklands. I have spoken to the Victoria Centre and they are delighted with our support and the money is to be spent on their long-awaited new sports hall.
Only one person disgraced himself by pirouetting off the circuit, but it was a deliberate act to illustrate how slippery the conditions were, especially if you took completely the wrong line coming out of the bottom bend. Fortunately only a bent number plate, but worth it just from the cheer from the crowd!
