Anyone know of a decent way to keep track/find out about which petrol stations sell super unleaded? I''ve had more than one increasingly desperate tool about driving into garage after garage and looking in vain for a super unleaded pump. On a connected issue, anyone know anything about the new Shell fuel called Optimax? It claims to be suitable for cars running both unleaded and super unleaded. Haven''t spluttered to a halt after one tankful, but am I storing up trouble if the octane rating isn''t up to scratch?

Mark, Try www.shell.com/uk-en/0,4009,,00.html Should be slightly better than the best super unleaded. Wish we had it here in Scotland !

I use Optimax, IMHO it is **** hot, especially if you need high octane fuel (my GTO is set up for 100 RON from Japan). My motor runs smoother, quieter and with more power (yikes). To find where sells Super try www.ispypetrol.com where you can search for the cheapest sort of fuel, from super through to LPG and even nasty diesel if you happen to run a tractor!! You can also sign up to recieve email updates of prices in your area, based on your postcode.
