Dear TVR Colleagues
Does anybody know whether an AJP V8 4.2 and the Borg Warner T5 gearbox
would fit in a V8S? Or is it easier to use a Rover 4.3 or 4.5 V8 and
the old SD1 gearbox?

What's easiest is obviously sticking with the base engine and gearbox you have, but what's the fun in that?

Given the replies above, it would seem to be down to budget / what you want. In case you don't know, the AJP is lighter than the RV8 and would create an awesome car with the huge power hike. Only tricky bit may be getting it set-up correctly, not sure how much Joo (Trackcar) would charge to nip over with his rollers on a ferry

I think you might find that getting a decent second hand AJP8 is not the cheapest way to start off, unless you already have one and even then what conditions is it really in
.
I second the 'tune the RV8' school, if thats not enough power then stick a blower on it, compartively speak the RV8 is as cheap as chips.
