Spark Plug access Speed 6

how do you get to the spark plugs in the speed six engine, need to clean them. have removed the bonnet, a good start. which allen keys do i remove?

you will need a 5mm allen key and a stanley knife, fist of all cut all way around the central black section of the top of the engine and then undo the three small cap screws with the allen key, then VERY carefully prise the black cover out off the top of the engine. once done you can then pull the plug lead off to get to the plugs.You will need a long, very narrow plug spanner though.
After you have finish, seal back up with black silicon sealant.

Make sure you use a very slim plug socket or you WILL get the socket stuck in the hole then you have big problems, take it from me I work on them all week.

I'll second the above, i have a box spanner (a tube) and it won't go all the way down, couldn't imagine you could have got anything thinner but there must be.

The only socket I could find that worked is an extra thin walled Snap on tool. Instead of rubber head the interior is also tapered to grip on the top of the spark plug. Not cheap though. about £35 quid.

Do you have use a series of universals joints to lower the plug socket down on the back cylinder?

Just a note on this one, even if you get a socket that is thin and clears all the way down the plug hole, watch out when it locates on to the plug because if the socket is a cheap one and is not true when you stars to remove the plug it WILL get stuck on the way out...
