S3 Crankcase breather hose......
Discussion
Hello chaps,
Just wondering if any of you have chosen to dispense with the crankcase breather hose that runs from the oil filler to the air filter? On all of the high performance cars that I have owned in the past, the crankcase has vented to a catch tank. I can't help but feel that all of those oily fumes being being regurgitated through the intake system of the V6 contribute to the somewhat 'wooly' throttle response at low RPM and small throttle openings.
I also intend to replace the original foam Pipercross(?) airfilter with a cone (K&N) type to improve airflow as the foam ones tend to clog quite quickly. Is anybody else of the opinion that having the induction intake right behind the rad is pretty daft? Surely the cooler the intake temperature, the better the engines performance?
All opinions / advice / lambasting gratefully received....
Cheers,
IanM
