Battery light flashing

GTO3 Problem: When i accelerate the battery warning light flashes but when the car is ticking over its fine. The car has been standing for 3 weeks due to a small driving ban for speeding, oops. Anyone out there experienced this problem?????

Sounds like the belt may be slipping, although I beleive it is toothed, someone correct me here if I am wrong?

does the power steering feel heavy?

does it cut out?

if so it is the altonator belt,check the belt asap. mine just snapped, hard to find a 1705 belt so just fitted a 1700 seems to be fine.

Yes, a few years ago I got a five week ban for doing 111 mph on the M5.

Cheers for the advice its booked in on Wednesday to check the belts so hopefully its a straight forward job. Yeah they clocked me at an average speed of 103mph so got a 3 week ban.

Im still having a problem with the battery light flashing when accelerating. I have just had the alternator belt changed and connections checked. Any ideas????????

A loose wire on the warning light? - My speedo dial illumination light sometimes goes off, wiggling the wires usually cures it.

Thanks ill try that over the weekend. Whats the easiest way to get to the wires??

Funny that I've just had mine service (24,000) and the battery light started doing the same thing. Plus I get an almighty squeal for a few seconds. The problem has gone away but I suspect I should get it looked at anyway. Is this a belt that is replaced at a major service anyway?
