Code C

I have owned the tuscan for about a month now and have had a couple of diagnostic warnings (one of which was a code L which apparently is a warning that the computer hasnt loaded up properly so no worries). The most recent warning was a code C which apparently means 'water not activating zero switch/switch failed/open circuit' according to the dealer.

Although this is helpful (i guess) they were unable to tell me what this really means and what implications it has or how serious it is or how to fix it or if i need to take it in to be looked at (which is less helpful). I was wondering if anyone could help a sad tuscan owner who can't take his new pride and joy out on a lovely sunny sunday (its just not fair).

They all do that sir. It could be that your POD (LCD) is on it's way out. Mine did the same before it went up the swanny. If you water temp stays around 85C while driving warm, you have nothing to worry about. In fact 90C is normal. Get out there and enjoy it.

I've had a Code C on startup for 2 years now and nothing has happened so far. I've been told its a display POD fault, so if you can live with pressing the override button then you'll save yourself a few hundred quid instead of getting the POD sent back to the factory.

Thanks a million for the reassurances...it allowed me to go out and purr the thing around without the paranoia of steam coming from up front.

Hi,have recently bought a tuscan and mine does exactly the same.When you turn on the ignition the 2 silver flaps (fuel & temp gauges) are supposed to do a sweep which activates a switch which in turn allows the readings to be zeroed.This is not happening,usually due to the flap not running true and not catching switch .Only cure is get pod stripped an sorted.Most of them do it,so i wouldnt bother.As long as you can overide it,it will never cause you a problem.
