First off, BIG thanks to Manu and Ajay for all their help yesterday. Despite the weather the cats were removed off my 355 yesterday.

Now, I can recommend EVERYONE doing this as it really doesn't make much difference to the sound of the car nor the way it runs, in fact it feels a lot better, feels like it revs better, more responsive and the howling sound comes in even sooner Now, that could all be just my imagination, but I don't think so.

One thing it will do, which is what introduced me to fitting the pipes, is that it will save the life of the cats, which are delicate(crappy) things that are likely to go wrong often anyway (common problem on a 355). I've got my cats with me so can fit them back when I sell the car (or take it for an MOT). The car runs so much nicer IMO.

Certain Ferrari authorised dealers also recommend (on the sly) that everyone should have the cats removed on 355s, and it is one of the best things you can do for your 355.

Also, the tubi manifold (another common 355 failing) is a much better unit than Ferrari's one, so if you have a problem with that, install a tubi manifold

Ajay and Manu, have you guys considered adding some bits to the FAQ section for this Ferrari forum on PH?

BTW, drove the 355 back from Egham to North London through all that crap and even more impressed with her!!! She ran perfectly, even sitting in all that traffic etc. But she got traction easy enough, even when everything around her were spinning their asses off. What a car!! Saw loads of cars run out of fuel, mechanical failure etc. I have a lot more respect for her now.

Can second that having the cats out is the way to go....

Standard exhasut set up - pretty cool but still mildly gay...

Tubi backbox/cats out - another level permanent grin - only mildly questionable sexuality(Unless your name rhymes Sally)

Tubi back box & no cats - unbelievable - full on aural ecstasy, red meat eating beer swilling red blooded heterosexual.....

Sorry I was bored an noone was posting

Cannot wait for Sunday......roll on ......

Tubi with no cats means you are all that Basher has quoted, unless your name rhymes with Razor, in which case you are trying to pretend you are. And not being too convincing about it.

I can't be f**ked to do any work today, I'm off home. Poor 355 needs a major clean off with all that shit on it from yesterday. Looked pretty cool with all the snow on it though.

See you guys Sunday!

See you guys Sunday!

Fingers crossed for the weather and for those of you who worry on wet roads... Just TRY and keep your right foot under control..

Me, I'm relying on my traction control to take care of things ;-) (That is when it is not turned OFF..)

TCU - although that stands for something else too...to be discussed offline

More NOISE ???? Most definitely a LOT more noise and noticeably more power across the range....runs a lot freer too....

I have a sound file for comparison if you want to hear it mail me offline...

On startup it is nothing short of frightening as it explodes into an immediate howl.....fantastic

Hi guys,

Would really attend next sunday as well. It´s just a little bit too far off for me (Germany). Anyway hope you have great fun tomorrow and it won´t snow (Here it´s pretty cold but the sun is shining).

By the way: Am installing a Tubi, the Tubi test pipes and a K&N air filter for my 348tb as well at the moment!
Hoping for great sound and some more extra hp!

Con saluti cordialissimi,
Jens Haller

Ali,

I'll be looking forward to hearing this tommorow!

I think I heard Craigs 360 at BTaP and that sounded truly marvellous!

What sort of a job is it when it comes to removing / refitting the cats on a 355? With a Cerbera it generally involves 2 trolley jacks and sweeping the garage floor with the back of your head.

Is it any easier than this or just as bad?!
